Shooting Instruction History
Scott is someone who is passionate about teaching the joys of shooting sports and the importance of firearm safety. He is extremely motivated and responsible individual who enjoys people and enhancing their confidence in shooting and is an articulate professional with creative ability who understands student’s needs. Have taught about 3500 students over the years. Recognized by NRA as a leader for instructor for women's shooting programs.
Experience
Chief Instructor, Airfield Shooting Club (Mar of 2017 until Present)
Responsible for all instruction at the club of approximately of 400 members.
Developed Shooter Tune Up Classes that improved member skill and education.
Developed virtual education programs to address COVID concerns.
4-H Shotgun Instructor for Club’s 4-H shooting program.
Member of the Governance Committee responsible for By-laws, Range Rules etc.
Responsible for all club matches and range rentals for the club which includes RSO assignments.
Responsible for developing shooting education programs for members and the public.
Building Instructor Cadre for classes at club.
NRA Program Coordinator for Norfolk County Rifle Range. (Feb 2011 – Feb 2017)
Responsible for coordinating all NRA classes offered at the club. This includes assignment of instructors and tracking all registration of the students.
Lead Instructor for all NRA classes.
Develop and maintain all lesson aides to include PowerPoints, and teaching aides.
Instituted an instructor indoctrination program to include mentoring, and creation of an instructor guide.
Refinement of NRA lesson plans to a more standardized program so instructors can be interchanged and to ensure students receive consistent educational coverage.
Coordinate approximately 13 instructors supporting First Steps and Basic, Pistol and Shotgun classes.
Training Coordinator for Norfolk County Rifle Range (2011 – Feb 2107)
Spearhead all instructor efforts at Norfolk County Rifle Range to include a monthly Ladies Night.
Coordinate training classes for NCRR with outside activities (such as CMP Coaching program).
Support Shooting Sports Days and Women On Target programs.
Provide assistance to Chief Range Safety Officer with training materials.
Chairman Juniors Program for Norfolk County Rifle Range. (June 2011 – Feb 2017)
Responsible for the coordination and running of a 21 member junior shooting program with approximately 6 coaches and RSOs.
Program involves 13-19 year old shooters with air and small bore pistol and rifle competition. Objective is to develop shooters for competitive shooting.
Youth Shooting Program Instructor (2006 – 2009)
Taught weekly youth shooting program for children ages 8-18. Shooting program consisted of air and small bore pistol and rifle. Tracked progress of participants against NRA Marksmanship program. Taught approximately 120 children.
Women's Wilderness Escape (2014 to Present)
One of 9 instructors hand selected from instructor from across the country to teach at NRA's premier Women's event held in Raton, NM.
Lead instructor for the Pistol Team, 3-Gun Event and Refuse To Be A Victim Class
Commercial Range Staff Development (2019 - Present)
Instructed and certified staff to be Range Safety Officers
Instructed and certified staff to be pistol instructors

Additional Training Conducted
Volunteer to assist development of Boy Scout Instructors in Shotgun, Rifle and Pistol
Volunteered to teach Navy Pistol and Rifle Qualifications to military personnel
Volunteered at 4-H district shoots to be a referee.
Volunteered with the City of Chesapeake Police Department to teach Refuse To Be a Victim Classes.
